MeshVault Privacy Policy

MeshVault is a local-first set of applications for organising and transferring 3D-model files. This policy explains what stays on your devices, what is sent only when you request a network feature, and the limited information processed when you submit feedback or use a purchase or licensing service.

Features vary by platform and release. MeshVault does not operate a cloud library or require a MeshVault account for its core library features. We do not automatically collect analytics, advertising identifiers, general browsing history, telemetry, or information about the contents of your model library.

Information stored locally

Depending on the product and features you use, MeshVault may store the following on your device, in a library folder you select, or on a MeshVault Server you configure:

MeshVault Mobile browser and repository access

MeshVault Mobile includes an embedded browser for supported 3D-model repositories. When you open a website, sign in, browse or download a file, your device communicates directly with that website and its service providers. The website may receive information normally sent with a web request, such as your IP address, browser information, cookies, account session and the pages or files you request. Those practices are governed by the website's own privacy policy and terms.

When you choose a model download, MeshVault Mobile may read information available on that page, including the model title, author, description, tags, licence, source link, file URL and images. It stores the selected file and captured metadata in your local vault or sends them to a MeshVault desktop application or server selected by you. MeshVault does not send your website password or account credentials to the MeshVault developer.

Supported sites may include Printables, MakerWorld, Creality Cloud, Thingiverse, Cults3D, Thangs, GrabCAD, CGTrader, Makerables, MyMiniFactory and Tinkercad. Support may change as those services change. MeshVault Mobile may block known advertising requests and hide selected page elements, but this does not prevent a website from processing requests you make or applying its own privacy practices.

MeshVault Connect browser extension

MeshVault Connect operates on supported repository and file-hosting pages. Depending on the browser and the features you use, it may access:

The extension sends selected files and metadata only to the MeshVault application or MeshVault Server destination you choose. It does not send general browsing history, keystrokes, unrelated form information or website passwords to the MeshVault developer.

When you use Google Drive or Dropbox import support, the extension accesses the page and files you select using your existing browser session. Google or Dropbox may process those requests under their own privacy policies. MeshVault does not receive your Google or Dropbox password.

Local-network connections and transfers

MeshVault products can discover and connect to compatible MeshVault applications or servers on a local network. Depending on the action you choose, a connection may exchange:

MeshVault Mobile can route a download to a connected desktop or server, browse a remote vault, export its library, receive supported transfers on Android, or provide temporary browser access to its on-device vault. The Android Wi-Fi server can run as a foreground service with a visible notification. The iOS Wi-Fi server runs only while its server screen is open and the app remains in the foreground.

Local MeshVault HTTP connections are intended for networks you trust and may not use transport encryption. Access controls vary by product and mode. In particular, a read-only mobile Wi-Fi server may allow another device that can reach its displayed address to browse and download files while the server is running. Stop the server when you finish and avoid using it on an untrusted or public network.

Local-network traffic is sent directly between the devices or server involved. MeshVault does not automatically relay it through a developer-operated cloud service. If you connect to a server owned or operated by somebody else, that operator is responsible for the server and may be able to access the information you send to it.

Support and feedback

Some MeshVault versions include an optional support and feedback form. Nothing is submitted unless you choose to send a report.

Diagnostic information may include the device manufacturer and model, operating-system version, SDK or build information, processor architecture, memory and runtime information, application packaging information, loaded-model counts and sanitised recent diagnostic events. MeshVault is designed to remove paths, filenames, URLs, network addresses, account names, credentials and similar identifiers from diagnostic fields before submission. Do not include private information in the report text unless it is necessary for your request.

Feedback reports are processed and stored using Google Firebase and Cloud Firestore. Google may process technical information, including network information, necessary to receive and protect the request under Google's Privacy Policy. MeshVault uses submitted information only to respond to support requests, investigate problems and improve its products. It is not used for advertising or tracking.

Feedback reports are retained only while reasonably necessary for those purposes and may be retained for up to 24 months. A report may be retained longer when needed to resolve an ongoing issue, prevent abuse or comply with a legal obligation.

Purchases, donations and licensing

Not every MeshVault product offers paid features. Where a version offers an App Store or Google Play purchase, trial or optional donation, Apple or Google processes the transaction under its own privacy policy. MeshVault receives the purchase or entitlement information needed to provide the feature or acknowledge the donation, but does not receive your complete payment-card details.

Direct desktop and server builds may offer licence purchase and activation through Lemon Squeezy. Opening the checkout takes you to Lemon Squeezy's website. Activation sends the licence key and the information required to validate and register that activation. Lemon Squeezy processes this information under its Privacy Policy.

Updates and external links

Some MeshVault desktop builds check MeshVault's website or GitHub for available updates. These services may receive standard request information such as an IP address, request time and software or browser information. An update is installed only through the update flow provided by that build or its application store.

MeshVault products and the website contain links to external websites. Some website pages embed content such as YouTube videos or load resources provided by third parties. Visiting or loading that content may allow the third party to receive standard web-request information and use cookies according to its own policy.

Information sharing

MeshVault does not sell personal information, build advertising profiles or track people across apps and websites. Information is shared only:

Third-party services may process information in countries other than your own. Their handling of that information is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.

Retention and deletion

Local library data remains until you delete the files, remove the library, clear the application's data or uninstall the application. Browser cookies and cache remain until removed through the app, browser or operating-system controls that manage them. Locally generated logs remain until cleared by the app, removed by you or deleted by normal log rotation.

Purchase and licence providers retain transaction information according to their own policies and legal obligations. MeshVault retains only the local status and identifiers needed to recognise the applicable entitlement or activation.

To request access to or deletion of an identifiable feedback report, contact us and provide enough information to locate it, such as its approximate submission date, title and contact address. Reports submitted without contact information may not be identifiable and therefore may not be possible to locate or delete individually.

Your choices

You can use MeshVault's core local-library features without submitting feedback or enabling diagnostic mode. You can decline local-network permission on platforms that request it, although discovery and transfer features will then be unavailable. You can stop a Wi-Fi server at any time, disconnect a remote library, clear browser website data through available system controls, delete local library content, and avoid connecting external services.

Security

MeshVault uses platform security controls and limits remote operations according to the selected connection role. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Keep your devices, browsers and MeshVault software updated, protect access credentials, use local transfer features only on networks you trust, and maintain backups of important model files.

Children's privacy

MeshVault is intended as a general 3D-model organisation tool and is not directed to children. MeshVault does not knowingly collect personal information from children. External model repositories and websites may contain user-generated content and apply their own age requirements.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when MeshVault products or their data practices change. The current version and its effective date will remain available at https://www.meshvault.app/privacy/.
